Large Format UV Printing in Los Angeles

Direct-to-surface UV printing at architectural scale — walls, glass, wood, metal, aluminium, canvas and foam board, printed on site or in the studio across Los Angeles.

Printing at the Scale of the Building

Large format printing usually means one thing in practice: the image has to be bigger than any sheet you can buy. Traditionally that was solved by printing onto a roll or a panel and then fixing it to the surface — which introduces the two problems everyone recognises, a visible join and an edge that eventually lifts.

Direct-to-surface UV printing removes both. The printer is brought to the surface and lays ink straight onto it while ultraviolet lamps cure each pass on contact. There is no substrate, no adhesive and no lamination. The image becomes part of the wall or panel, and it is dry the moment it is printed. Read the full process on our direct-to-wall printing page.

    Surfaces We Print

Walls and smooth plaster are the most common, but the same machine prints onto glass, sealed wood, metal and aluminium, canvas and foam board. Glass is printed with a white ink layer behind the image where opacity is needed, so a partition can carry a full-colour graphic and still act as a divider. Metal and aluminium take a hard, wipeable print suited to signage and exterior-adjacent locations under cover.

Wood and canvas are chosen where the material itself is part of the look — the grain or weave reads through the printed image rather than being hidden by it. Foam board is the lightweight option for temporary displays. Panel work is covered in more detail on printing on glass, wood, metal and canvas.

    Commercial Signage and Branding

For businesses, large format printing is mostly an identity job. Reception and lobby walls, wayfinding panels, department and floor markers, window and partition graphics, exterior-facing signage under cover, and brand walls in the rooms where photography and filming happen.

We print from your vector logo files and specified colour references rather than tracing a screenshot, so edges stay clean at wall scale and colour follows your brand guidelines. For companies with several Los Angeles sites, the same approved artwork prints consistently at each location without redesigning anything.

    Art Reproduction at Wall Scale

Fine-art and photographic reproduction is the other half of the work. Artists, galleries, hotels and homeowners use large format printing to put a single image across a full wall or onto a rigid panel at a size no print shop can supply on paper.

Resolution matters more than file size here. A large image printed from a small original will look soft, so we check the file before quoting and tell you plainly whether it will hold up at the size you want — and, if it will not, what the largest convincing size is. Photographic work is covered on our photo wall murals page.

    Events, Retail and Temporary Displays

Event backdrops, trade-show graphics, pop-up retail displays and seasonal campaign walls are well suited to UV printing precisely because nothing is permanent about the installation. A printed wall is reinstated by repainting; a printed panel is simply removed. There is no vinyl to peel off a surface afterwards and no adhesive residue to clean up.

Because the ink cures as it prints, there is also no drying period to build into a build schedule — a wall printed the night before an opening is ready for the opening.

    Durability and Finish

The cured ink forms a hard film bonded to the surface, so a printed wall or panel can be wiped down with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Finish is specified with the job: a matte cure for walls that appear on camera or sit under strong directional lighting, or a more reflective finish where the surface should catch light. High-contact areas can take a protective topcoat.

    Getting a Quote

Send a straight-on photo of the wall or a description of the panels, the approximate dimensions in feet, and the artwork or a reference. We return a to-scale preview and pricing, usually the same day. Start with a free wall preview, call (833) 332-6774, or send your project details.

Deco Print Studio is the direct-to-surface printing division operated by American Reliable Construction & Remodeling, California CSLB License #1155602, so site protection, access coordination and clean handover are handled to construction-trade standards.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is large format UV printing?

It is printing at architectural scale with ultraviolet-cured ink. Instead of printing onto paper and mounting it, the printer lays ink directly onto the surface — a wall, a glass partition, a metal or wood panel — and UV lamps cure each pass on contact, so the image is dry and bonded as soon as it is printed.

What is the largest thing you can print?

Walls are printed in registered sections that align into one continuous image, so length is limited by the wall rather than by the machine. Tall walls are handled with lift or scaffold access arranged as part of the job, and rigid panels are printed to the sheet sizes the material comes in.

Which materials can you print on?

Drywall and smooth plaster, glass, sealed wood, metal and aluminium, canvas, and foam board. We check the surface and its existing coating before quoting, because adhesion and colour both depend on what is already on the material.

Do you print signage and event graphics as well as art?

Yes. The same process produces commercial signage and wayfinding panels, retail and trade-show displays, event backdrops and art reproduction. What changes between them is the substrate and the finish, not the printing method.
